[First project of Fountain of Waters]
Almond Shell
Fountain of Waters has partnered with local farms located in YoloCounty, northern California, to separate the hulls, shells and kernels of freshly picked almonds from several California almond farms.
Thousands of tons of almond hulls produced in this process are piled up like mountains due to the massive amount, and when it rains, the hulls ferment and cause fires. Almond husks that have been thrown away or mistaken for a wildfire hazard are reborn as a natural exfoliants in ‘Cactus Hotel’ product line that helps improve skin texture through 18 delicate and meticulous upcycling processes.
